Day 2, Match 2

FRUSTRATED SWEDEN ALL TIED UP
Sweden 0 Trinidad&Tobago 0
It's been said recently that there are no easy games at the World Cup. Here's proof. Trinidad, the smallest nation ever to qualify for the finals, entered with 2001/1 odds to win the Cup. Sweden, who have played 43 World Cup matches in their history, were at 41/1. A massacre in the making? No way. The Soca Warriors came out strong and earned a point in their first ever World Cup appearance.
Match Rating: 4 out of 5. Yes, I know it was a goalless draw but it was riveting throughout. Both teams had several good chances to score. Honorable mention to defender Sancho.
Man of the Match: Hislop, the Trinidad goalkeeper who also plays for West Ham United in England. Outstanding. Denied Sweden on numerous occasions.
Disappointment of the Match: Trinidad had a man sent off. Sweden laid an absolute seige to the Trinidad goal in the second half and were very unlucky not to score.
Huh? Although by no means as large as the Swedish contingent, the Trinidad fans were out in force. Must have been about half the country inside the stadium.
The Fallout: Sweden will feel devastated not to have scored against 10-man Trinidad, yet they looked pretty sharp believe it or not. The Sweden-Paraguay game now takes on a lot of importance as neither team can afford to lose. Trinidad will go into their match with England with their heads held high.
Extra: This group looks to be a lot more balanced than originally thought. The Sweden-England match might be crucial after all.

This is the first match I've gotten wrong. I had Sweden win 3-2 for some reason. I was way off.
